I believe that the key to success in teaching the performing arts is creating a safe environment where students feel free to take risks and explore. This freedom allows them to find vulnerable moments of discovery, all supported by effective teaching.

It is more productive to allow time for students to come up with answers for themselves, as opposed to feeding the answers to them. I ask key questions which lead to valuable discussions."

As an Educator...

As an educator, Cody has been consistently successful in recruiting new students and teachers, updating and revising curriculum, developing new works and producing old classics. Cody received his MFA in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University, and his BFA in musical theatre from Brigham Young University. Cody has been teaching in various studios, academies, schools and universities since 2003.

Cody is currently the Theatre Department Chair at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, teaching Musical Theatre.

Cody founded Triple Threat Productions & Studios, where he teaches online classes in voice and acting, produces youth theatre, manages, directs, and choreographs. He also ran Kre8ive Fine Arts Academy serving as the Artistic Director where he did much of the same work, including producing two performance companies. With The Artisan Academy, Cody served as Education Director and taught a variety of classes. He has worked at Interlochen Center for the Arts for multiple summers where he directed and choreographed the headlining musical productions.
